In recognition of Homelessness Week 2024, which takes place from Monday August 5 to Sunday August 11, PFS Global are proud to once again host The Redlands Corporate Sleepout.
Every night, nearly 20,000 people are experiencing homelessness in Queensland alone. On Friday 9th August, we invite leaders in the Redlands business community to do the same – and raise vital funds for Backpack Bed for Homeless who do amazing work within the Redlands and throughout Australia.
EVENT DETAILS
Cost: $400 per business entitles you to two participants.
This tax-deductable donation, will buy much needed Sleeping bags for Backpack Beds for Homeless so they can continue their amazing work in our Redlands community.
Date: Friday, 9th August
Where: PFS Global Carpark, 17 Daintree Drive, Redland Bay Business Park, Redland Bay. See Map (different location to last year)
Time: Participants to arrive 6pm, and will conclude approx 7am, Saturday 10th August.
What happens on the night?
Once everyone arrives, a simple meal will be provided, typical to what would be commonly available to someone sleeping rough. At 6.30pm Backpack Bed for Homeless Executive of Operations & Co-Designer, Lisa Clark will have a chat to us about homelessness in Australia, the work they are doing and the important role that business and community can play in reducing homelessness. Once official proceedings wrap-up, it’s off to experience a night out in the cold.
What happens in the morning?
A simple breakfast will be provided and we suggest you spend some time reflecting on what you learned and experienced overnight.
What should I bring?
The weather may be cold and potentially wet. Make sure you wear warm, comfortable, casual clothes. Please bring your own sleeping bag. A pillow is optional. In keeping with the spirit of the event, please avoid airbeds, luxury bedding, hot water bottles, and other creature comforts, as well as extra food or snacks.
Electronic items such as mobile phones, tablets and cameras are very welcome to capture your experience of the Sleepout. We encourage social media updates encouraging your network to make donations and spread awareness of the cause.
What about the weather?
The event is designed to introduce you to what it’s really like to sleep rough. Regardless of the weather, the event will go ahead – so there are no excuses. However, some undercover areas will be made available in the case of heavy rain.
It’s a single night in the open, but it will change lives – including yours. Are you in?

"The 2023 Redlands Corporate Sleepout was a humbling experience that gave us a brief insight into the challenges of homelessness. Spending a night with minimal comforts made us appreciate the simple luxuries we often overlook. We were grateful for the opportunity to have participated, as it has left a lasting impression on us and has reinforced the value of compassion and understanding in our community."
